1. When is the best time to photograph someone?

Traditionally, Dennis' clients commission him every two to four years. Clients often choose to begin their Wile portrait experience when their children are in the infant stage. Dennis will be happy to show you beautiful portraits of subjects ranging in age from 2 weeks to 92 years.

2. What makes a Wile sitting different from other photo sessions?

A day with Dennis is fun. He never says "Smile!" He takes a lot of pictures, but you will find that the time flies. Clients often comment that a Wile session is a wonderful experience.

3. What should I wear?

Just dress in something comfortable that you would normally wear at home. There is no need to make any decisions concerning the photo session prior to Dennis' arrival. He and his assistant will help make wardrobe selections for you and your children.

4. What if my child has braces?

Braces are cool! We have a wonderful selection of portraits of people with braces. The smiles that show them can be great fun, though many of Dennis' most interesting portraits are of people not smiling.

5. Where does the photo session take place and how long does it last?

Dennis comes to your home or a location of your choice. He is yours for the day, if necessary, because he schedules only one session per day. Please allow at least three hours for the session, although Dennis is flexible and will devote as much time as needed to get the most interesting and beautiful portraits of your family.

6. What do I need to do to prepare the children for the session?

No preparation is necessary for a Dennis Wile photo session. Dennis and his assistant will help you with all aspects of the sitting.

7. How do I manage to get my family in one place at the same time?

Because Dennis will accommodate your schedule, you don't need to worry about a baby who takes a surprise nap, teenagers who have erratic schedules, or a pet who needs time to warm up. Dennis sets up his equipment and photographs subjects when they are ready. Traditionally, he saves group portraits until the end of the sitting. Group portraits usually take about fifteen minutes. This is the only time when all of the portrait subjects need to be present.

8. How do I get my children to sit still?

Dennis doesn't try to get children to sit still. He involves them in the process of photographing. They can help him set up the equipment, take pictures of him, or photograph their favorite toys.

9. What if my teenager has complexion problems?

Complexion problem? No problem. All prints are hand retouched to eliminate any temporary marks.

10. My children have had unpleasant experiences with other photographers. How do you keep them from feeling anxious or unsure?

Dennis will take time with your children, as he would with you. He may read them a story or play a game of catch. During the sitting, he concocts wild and wacky stories to entertain children -- blue dogs that fly, a cat that licks ice cream from a bear's nose, Uncle Willy Nilly in a chocolate soufflé dirigible moving through skies bluer than Grace Kelly's eyes . . . By the end of the portrait session, Dennis will be your children's newest friend.

11. How soon will I see the prints?

Dennis returns personally to deliver the photographs to you, usually within two to eight weeks depending on your needs and schedule. He will bring a portfolio with fifteen to twenty beautiful portraits of each subject. You make your selection from these finished prints. The prints are made on eleven-by-fourteen-inch archival photographic paper embossed with the Wile Studio seal.

12. How does the print selection process work?

Clients usually select several portraits of each subject and hang them salon-style in groupings, mixing a variety of portrait poses to create wonderful studies of their children, pets, and themselves. Dennis will help you choose the best possible group of portraits.

13. What if I need photographs for business, acting, or modeling purposes?

Every photo session is tailored to the clientıs needs. Dennis will be happy to accommodate you.

14. What are the payment terms?

Dennis accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express in addition to personal checks and cash.
